Learning Collaboratively

Working Collaboratively on PhotoPeach

Hi 6A,

A short while ago, we inquired into the properties of prisms and pyramids. You worked in groups and learned collaboratively (the slide show explains what this means).
What I would like you to think about is how well did you and your group collaborate. Please answer the following questions about learning collaboratively:

1. What did your group do well?
2. What challenges did your group face when trying to work collaboratively?
3. If you got to work with the same people again, what could you do differently to improve collaboration?

    Hi Ms J,
    1. I think what our group did well was how we came up with 2 ideas of how to present. We then split up in to two, to do both of the presentations but we constantly looked over each other to see if anyone needed help.
    2. Not really anything just at the end because everyone wanted to present and have their say at the same time.
    3. Probably working who was going to say or present what and when.

    1. Our group worked well in organising ourselves and knowing whose doing what. Our group did well in this because we decided that two of us would start the presentation while the other two gathered information.
    2. Our group started fighting a little bit because of spelling errors and mistakes on the finished piece but I think we fixed it and worked it out.
    3. If I worked with the same group again I think we would most likely want to all work on one thing at the same time so we can all make sure that what we’re doing is right.

1.We worked collaboratively and split into two groups to do different things.
    2.I don’t think any.
3.I think our group was great and does not need any adjustments.

    1. What did your group do well?
Um very honostly (sorry Kade, Sharonne, Gidon) but i dont think we did so good until presentation time.
    2. What challenges did your group face when trying to work collaboratively?
Um I think that one person was hogging all the jobs so we were trying to even it out but the person just wouldnt budge.
    3. If you got to work with the same people again, what could you do differently to improve collaboration?
um.. I think we should just share out what we had to do more evenly.
    xoxo simmi :-)

1.I think my group worked really well.
2.In my opinion there was only one challenge, when me, someone and someone were arguing about whether a cube was a prism or a pyramid.
3.If I were to work with the same group again I think I would leave the arguments when were done the research about the other shapes.

    •   Ms J Says:

      Hi Adam,
your solution to avoiding arguments sounds like a sensible one – find information to back up the correct argument/ point of view about the cube.

    Hi Ms J,

    This Is What I Think……

    1. We worked together very well and communicated with each other which i thought was really good.

    2. My group didn’t really face any challenges i thought we worked well with each other i just thought that we all argued a little to much.

    3. If i got to work with the same people again we could work on not talking over each other every time and discuss which parts we were going to say, and to not rush each other.

My Group: Timmi, Me, Ethan and Noah

    Xx Gabsy 6A!

    1. I think our groupe did well because we all co-operated and put in our fair share.
2.Our Groupe faced a challenge when someone lost our sheet and we had to redo it in one lesson.
3.If I got to work with the same people again I think we would need to slow down our work and not rush

  12.   Tayla Says:

    Hi Ms J,

    1. What did your group do well?
I think my group did well because everyone had a job and something to do to help.

    2. What challenges did your group face when trying to work collaboratively?
We didn’t really have any problems but once someone had finished their job they didn’t have any thing to do.

    3. If you got to work with the same people again, what could you do differently to improve collaboration?
We could maybe give people people different jobs and then slow it down at not rush through.

    Tayla

  13.   Noah Says:

    1. What did your group do well?
Splitting the work so that we all had jobs to do.
    2. What challenges did your group face when trying to work collaboratively?
Having different opinions when trying to agree on facts to put into our work.
    3. If you got to work with the same people again, what could you do differently to improve collaboration?
Check our information with more then one source.

  14.   saise006 Says:

    1. are group worked together well.
    2. the challenges that we faced were deciding on what we were going to do.
    3. if I could work with the same people again I would work on giving everyone a go at trying to be apart of the group.

    Sam

  15.   jack Says:

    1. I think our group split up eachothers jobs very well using people’s skills where they’d be most effective.
    2. Some people were putting in more effort than others like some were just sitting around while others were researching
    3. If I had a chance to work with the same people again I would share around the work more and not try to do everything by myself.
