Exhibition Recount

It was the day before the exhibition and we were still setting up. I was wondering what the experience would be like and how much I would still learn.

The day of the exhibition had arrived and the Opening Ceremony was starting. After watching three other creative expression groups it was our turn, as we were heading on stage our videos came up. We sat down on stage and watched each other’s video once seeing mine and walking off stage I felt relieved and wanted to watch the rest of the ceremony.

After the ceremony was done all the year 6’s left to prepare for the exhibition, I went and got a laptop and stood at my station waiting for yoni and Daniel. Eventually we were all there and the parents started coming in. the first to my station was Mr Hannon and Mr Kennard.

Faster than I thought it was over everyone was leaving and I went to start to pack my laptop away on charge. (Knowing that I was coming back to use that laptop tonight).

That night when I came back to school at 7.25pm, we went back to our stalls and waited as just as many parents came to look. Daniel wasn’t there that night but yoni and I did just as well in getting our information out.

I think that the Exhibition wasn’t exactly how I thought it would be, but I really think that it helped me really tell everyone about my iniquity and my learning.

I went to Luca’s mum and it was really amazing what she had to say. Before I had started a power point with Mr’s Blumgart and on each slide I had my question. Then with Kelly for each question I put dot points for different answers. I then had another page with interesting facts which Kelly also helped select the ones that were good.

Kelly became another resource for me as she gave me some more information that I had never thought of and that was very helpful. Kelly also helped me select organize my information in a helpful way so that I could understand it and she also told me that on the day of the exhibition I will only be standing up and talking about my topic so I don’t need to get chunks of information that I don’t need. I also felt that I could talk freely as Kelly was a friendly person that didn’t make you feel scared. I stated to tell Kelly what I was thinking of for my presentation and she said some ideas if I wanted to do a diorama and she helped me find some powerful words for the banner which I now really want to use as it was so catchy.

Why do people judge others by their race, religion or culture because of stereotypes? Connections
When people speak about stereotypes do they actually mean it against certain people? Perspective
What do people base their stereotyping on? Function

I have used Cooperation, Collaboration and Connection because i cooperated with others in other classes that are doing the same as me. I collaborated and Connected with my brother cause hes also is doing hes Exibition on stereotypes.

I am up to the investigating part of my inquiry.

What is a Stereotype? Form. A stereotype is a form.
Why do Stereotypes occur? Causation/Perspective. To occur is to cause and a stereotype is someone’s perspective.
Can stereotypes be stopped? Change/Perspective. To stop a stereotype is to change it and perspective because a stereotype is someone’s perspective.
Are there specific types of people who stereotype other people? Perspective. Perspective because a stereotype is someone’s perspective.

How do stereotypes link to racism? Connection. Link is a similar word to connection.
Are there good stereotypes? Perspective. Perspective because a stereotype is someone’s perspective.
Are there campaigns that help stop Stereotyping? Change. Change because if you stop stereotypes you will change the world.
