Checkpoint #2
Exhibition, Unit of Inquiry September 4th, 2012Hi 6G,
Today we completed our second Check Point experience with parents from our class. Please answer the following questions
1. Was this checkpoint experience better or worse than the first one? Why?
2. How has this checkpoint assisted your learning?

I thought that the checkpoint was better today than the last one because in the other one, the kid I had (from Year 5) he was just reading from a sheet of paper not caring about the answers I was giving him. Whereas today, with Josh’s mum, she looked as though she was really interested in my inquiry.
And i’m not sure that this checkpoint has assisted my learning…

Better, because they could understand where you were coming from because they were adults.
It has assisted my learning becuase i got the chance to ask Gabe’s mum some questions.

1.I think this check point was better than the first check point. I felt better talking to someone with a bit more experience and probably has done something similar so they knew what to help me with. Instead of just asking you questions and I had to answer them. I felt like I could have more of a conversation with my parent then my year 5 because we both could connect to what I was saying.
2.It has helped by making me feel more confident with the exhibition and how I am going. It made me relies that doing it on the night won’t be that hard and I will actually be prepared just by look at how much I have done so far. It has also assisted my learning by showing me how close I am to finishing this exhibition, that I really need to work harder so I make myself feel less rushed when it comes to the end product.

The checkpoint number 2 was better than the first one because the parents seemend more happy and more interested to do this and it made me feel more confident to answer the questions.
It has helped me learn because I have learnt to explain answers more clearly and know what I am talking about.

1. this checkpoint was better than the first one because my person (joshs mum) didn’t go as deep as the first person.
2.it assisted my learning because she asked some questions that i wasn’t expecting. i learned that people on the day will ask some random questions at me.

1. I think that this check point was better than last time because it was more sensible and it helped a lot and I really enjoyed it.
2. This check point assisted my learning because it really helped me to answer the questions and now I know what it will be like on the day.

1. I thought the checkpoint was better for me because i got to talk to someone who had more experience and when i was speaking to the kid in year 5 he was just reading from the paper and the adult i spoke to actually wanted to know about my inequity.
2. I am not sure how it has assisted my learning!

1. I Thought this one was better because the adults could understand it from a better picture then the year 5.
2. This check point has assited me because i asked Natalie some questions and she helped me through it.

1. I thought it was better because I now know much more information that I knew before.
2.This checkpoint was helpful because it reminded me to stay on track.

1. It was better because, I know what it’s like now and I know much kore information than I first did.
2. The checkpoint was helpful because they gave me idea’s what I can do next.

1. I thought it was easier Because the adults actually understood what where talking about and I had my mum!!
2. It has assisted my learning because now I actually know when I’m going!!!

1) I thought yesterdays checkpoint was better because I got an opinion from someone with a lot more knowledge and also Sally gave me some good advice to stay on track.
2) The checkpoint has helped me because it gave me some ideas and it helped me to make sure I am focused on my topic.

1. I found that this checkpoint was better for me because we got asked questions but in our answer they went and asked ABOUT it and went deeply into it and gave us tips
2. Not really but you know it was amazing to hear what I’ve done, from my own voice, telling me that I’ve done that. You know it’s pretty amazing!

I agree with Charlie because I got an opinion from someone who has more knowledge and is more mature and asks more complicated questions than the year 5s. (no offence!!!) Sally also helped me with what she thinks i need to do in order to get my inquiry finished in time and that really helped because i am finished my inquiry. This check point has assisted my learning because Sally told me what I can and should do and now thanks to her i have finished, Thank you Sally. <3

I thought that yesterdays checkpoint was better because I had a lot more information and I think that I was getting better practice for the exhibition because I could answer more of the questions a lot more easily. And I also think that I got some better feedback on how they think I am going with my research.

I think this checkpoint was much better than the first checkpoint because we were having a full on conversation whereas in the first checkpoint they just asked us the questions and then moved on.
Bunny and I showed Natalie what our presentation tool was and she gave us some advice aswell.
This checkpoint has helped me becasue it gave me good practise for the exhibition when we have to explain about our inquiry and have a conversation with someone.

1. This checkpoint was better than the other one because (as bunny said) my year five was also just reading and not caring about any answers. Josh’s dad listened and asked questions that stretched my brain so far! Somehow we started talking about homicide……
2. It assisted my learning because now I know what some parents might ask and as Jackson said I also asked the parent questions which led me to understand what other parents would ask, I also know that I can keep a conversation going!
